POINT MADE
More guns than people
If there are more firearms than inhabitants in a country, it can only facilitate violence of all kinds: at work, in the home, racial, religious... Violence becomes available to anyone who thinks a grudge can be resolved by shooting the subject held responsible. Things have always been this way in the United States. However, now, the fight against jihadi terrorism and recent incidents of racially motivated aggression by police have led to an unusual editorial on the front page of The New York Times. The column bluntly reflects the frustration and anxiety of the US's seeming inability to regulate and control the use of firearms. Obama tried and failed. However, there is nothing more to be done than to continue trying.
