Lengthy political campaigns

If the race for the White House is feeling long (the daily nonsense from Donald Trump is not even funny anymore) and it's best not to talk about the chaos involved in forming a government in Spain, prepare yourself, as France has to elect a president in the spring and its leaders are wagging their tails. Sarkozy is moving to the right to see if he can fish in Marine Le Pen's waters, while President Hollande began his campaign yesterday with a speech selling himself as the only option for dealing with the jihadist threat. But it will be tough for him. Not only because his star minister has betrayed him, but also because 88% of the French do not want him to run again. He'll have to do a lot of wagging to stand a chance.
